HOW TO GET HERE
ways to get to ravello
Ravello is located on the Amalfi coast, ~13 miles east of Positano.
The closest airport is Naples (NAP), ~1.5 hour from Ravello and the most convenient if you want to explore Amalfi coast before. This is where Art and I flew into when we did an Amalfi Coast trip last year (we had only 1 layover in Germany). Rome Fiumicino (FCO) will have most options but will be the farthest (3.5 hours). If you’re coming from SFO Norwegian Airlines (doesn’t show up in aggregator flight searches) has nonstop flights SFO - Rome on many days.
I’d highly recommend making an Amalfi coast trip before or after the wedding and stopping by Positano, Capri, Amalfi.
Renting a car appears to be a nightmare (crazy traffic and tiny roads with major cliff backdrops) so I’d get a taxi from the airport (and ask for the shorter route!). If you want to arrange transportation beforehand check Positano Car Service or email info@positanocarservice.com. Though there are lots of taxi options from the airport there are very few taxis (and $$$) available to go between the towns. However there are many buses that leave every few minutes and they’re as fast as taxis.
ACCOMODATIONS
Our wedding planner, Laura, has room blocks at various hotels in Ravello. Contact laura.weddings@exclusiveitaly.it to reserve a room with our wedding rates. (Sorry there’s no way to do this electronically)
You’re also welcome to book it on your own online as most of the hotels have online booking also through booking.com, tripadvisor etc and there are many hotels.
Ravello is a very small town (most places are ~10 minutes walking distance of each other), so it doesn’t matter where you stay (but either way double check on Google Maps that it’s close to “Villa Cimbrone”).
Logistically it will be easier if you’re in Ravello on Saturday / Saturday night. On Friday, our welcome dinner is in Amalfi, ~20 minutes from Ravello.
